Facebook Sued 15 Billion Dollars


Facebook, the social networking site that the new shares begin trading on Friday (5/18/2012), faced lawsuits worth 15 billion dollars in U.S. federal courts.

As reported by Bloomberg, in a joint indictment, a number of the account owner claims that Facebook social networking site has violated their privacy by tracking Internet usage by recording the activity of cookies even have to register exit (logout).

Demands of class-action was filed to the Federal Court of San Jose along with 21 other charges of privacy violations. The last case was filed on behalf of citizens of the United States that make up the account between May 2010 and September 2011.

Plaintiff lawyers are considering to bring Facebook users from abroad into the group of plaintiffs.

In the lawsuit, Facebook accused of violating the tracking Tracking America Act, which states the amount of compensation 100 dollars per day for each violation up to a maximum of 10,000 dollars per user Facebook.

With more than 845 million users, Facebook could face charges totaling $ 15 billion or more.

Facebook spokesman, Andrew Noyes, stating that the claim is unfounded and that it would prepare a legal fight.
